Upcycle Project Update – Don Julio 1942 Lamp

Up to this point, I have collected all materials necessary for my upcycle project, and am now working on final manufacturing processes and assembly. Unfortunately, I was unable to utilize the upcycled stained glass I found, and instead decided to use copper sheet I purchased from McGuckin. I decided to downscale my lamp to one bulb to make it more stable. Fortunately, I was able to strip down the lamp I found at goodwill and use the wiring and socket for my lamp.

  • I have thought about doing projects very similar to this in the past but never went through with it. I’m very excited to see how it turns out and read about the process that you have followed in order to finish it.

This is a great idea. I’ve always wanted to make a lamp out of a bottle and a 1942 Don Julio bottle is perfect. The copper flower looks really good! For my project, I had to bend some aluminum and found it fairly difficult to keep it smooth and it seems like you have done a great job at that. Can’t wait to see the final product!
