Exploring the Possibilities: Wildly Different Aesthetics for a Magical Heartbeat Tree

Although my original intention was to make a tree that was influenced by a wonderful fantasy world, I also came up with two alternate styles that I think would be as alluring.

A design with steampunk influences is the first aesthetic I investigated. I imagined the tree’s branches, wires, and pipes to be composed of metal. Edison bulbs would take the place of the LED ropes’ vibrant colors, and brass or copper-colored lights would be used in their place. I would also include steam or fog effects that would emanate from the tree’s branches to further the steampunk look.

I drew some drawings that combined a mix of brass and copper hues with a gloomy, enigmatic vibe. The tree would shine softly and warmly, like an old-fashioned gas lamp, and the limbs would have exposed gears.

A futuristic design is the second aesthetic I investigated. I imagined the tree’s trunk and branches made of sleek metal or plastic, with LED ropes running in a uniform pattern along the branches. The colorful LEDs would be replaced with white or blue lights, creating a clean, futuristic environment.

My sketch depicted a tree with a streamlined and minimalistic appearance, as well as a polished, reflective surface that added to the futuristic effect. The LED ropes would emit a pulsating glow in time with the user’s heartbeat, giving off a sci-fi vibe.

Although I am still in the concept phase of this project, experimenting with these two distinct aesthetics has been a rewarding experience. It’s broadened my creative horizons and inspired me to think outside the box of my original plan for a magical fantasy world-inspired tree.

I really like the direction of these alternative routes that you discussed. The steampunk design would look cool and the use of the metal and light bulbs would tie your project back into a mechanical engineering aesthetic.

I thought your ideas around the steampunk design to be incredibly unique. I really loved the design choice to have light bulbs hanging off almost like leaves. Regardless of which aesthetic you choose I’m looking forward to seeing the final product!

    Shrey,

I am a big fan of your futuristic concept! The sleek lines, smooth patterns, and modern yet organic aesthetic is incredibly well done. I have never seen the steampunk aesthetic outside of clothing or cosplay. What made you choose that as your second trial aesthetic?
