For my final project I have come up with the idea to create a neon sign. To do so it is very complicated and involves welding and glass blowing and lots of hard work….but I plan to gain the system. I am going to create a neon sign out of rubber and lighting. I plan to heat up the rubber so I can form it to the design I please and wind the lighting inside as I go. I’m not sure if this is a very realistic idea but I am gonna take it head on. Of course the word is the most important part so I have to come to a conclusion on what I would like to do for it, but overall that is the general idea. I am not sure yet if the sign will be disconnected such as the Gucci sign seen below, or if it will all be one continuous line like the dreaming one below.

I really am fascinated by the whole idea. I think it is really fancy because I’m always interested in glowing things. I agree the word is the most important part, but I hope you decide on it soon. I agree with Fiona on using LED strips, it might just ease out the whole process to be honest. All the best, hope to see an amazing design and product.
Hi Christopher! I really like your idea! My question for you is what kind of lighting will you use? I think LED strips might be really good for this, but that’s just my opinion. Also, if you use an LED strip you could program different lighting schemes and make it change over time or something. Anyway, I am really excited to see what you come up with.
