Heartbeat Tree: A Magical Interactive Installation

I’m delighted to present some new information about my project to create an interactive tree that lights up based on the viewer’s heart rate.

My project objectives remain the same, and here are the top five things I want my project to look, feel, and do:

  1. Breathtaking: I want this tree to be visually stunning and awe-inspiring, something that will draw people in and make them want to stop and look closer.
  2. Magical: I want the tree to feel like something out of a fairy tale, a magical and enchanted object that captures people’s imaginations and fills them with wonder.
  3. Interactive: The heart rate sensor will allow viewers to interact with the tree in a novel way, creating a memorable and engaging experience for them.
  4. Educational: By including a heart rate sensor, the tree can also educate people about the importance of heart health and wellness.
  5. Sustainable: I want to make certain that the materials and processes used to make the tree are as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible.

The indicators that I’ve succeeded in my project are straightforward: I want people to be amazed, delighted, and engaged when they interact with the tree. If the tree achieves those objectives, I’ll feel like I’ve accomplished my goal.

Of course, there will be some constraints to overcome as I work on this project. Here are the top five constraints we’re dealing with:

  1. Time: Because I only have a limited amount of time to complete this project, I must be efficient and effective in my planning and execution.
  2. Money: A budget is an important consideration in any project. I’ll have to make sure I am spending  money wisely and sourcing materials and supplies as cheaply as possible.
  3. Skills: Working with clear pipes and laser cutting the base may necessitate the acquisition of new skills and techniques.
  4. Supplies: To bring the project to life, I’ll need to source a variety of supplies and materials.
  5. Workspace: Because this is a massive task, I’ll need to ensure that I have enough space to work on it and store materials as needed.

The most difficult constraints to overcome, in my opinion, will be time and skills. I’ll need to work efficiently to ensure that I finish the project on time, and I may need to do some research and experimentation to learn the new skills required for this design.

Overall, I’m looking forward to seeing how this project turns out and sharing the finished product with others. This design has the potential to be beautiful and enchanting, and I’m excited to see it come to life.

  • This is going to be awesome; I can’t wait to see how my heartbeat is visualized. For example, will you program the LEDs to flash in a certain pattern in response to my heartbeat?

Hi Shrey! Your project is looking great so far from what I could see at the BTU lab. I am also curious about what you will be using to monitor the heart rate of your user. I’d be curious if you could integrate the data from something such as an Apple watch.

Hey Shrey, I’m sure that the end result of your project is gonna look really cool. What will you be utilizing to monitor the heartbeat of the user?
